Avengers was reeeaally incredible and I don’t think TDKR will “beat” it. It’ll be good, MAYBE even better, but it’s not gonna outsell Avengers. Avengers was solid and earned the money it’s making. If I ever seem like I’m hating on the movie, it’s just because of overzealous fangirls (mostly on tumblr) that irritate me. I just think I’d be a hypocrite if I started praising the hell out of the performances all the time, even if I do think they were spectacular. Love the movie. Hate lots (not all) of its fans. Glad the genre and characters are getting exposure, though.

Quick disclaimer before someone inevitably brings this up: there is nothing wrong with lots of praise or enthusiastic fandom in of itself. There’s different ways you can go about showcasing it, and some ways are annoying as hell especially in mass doses. And I’m drowning in it every time I go on the Internet now. So sue me for being irked by it. I am a Batman fan and lots of Batman fans are annoying. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it when people go ga-ga over the character. Doesn’t mean I don’t like Batman. Just means there are some people out there who make me cringe.
