RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #8 Review (No spoilers)

This series keeps giving me a new favorite issue. This was great, and it was just what I needed to cheeer me up on such a crappy day.
Personal issues aside, we get several of the trops this series has been throwing at us that I just can’t get enough of: flashbacks of Jason’s past, the team just simply being good buds (AND ADMITTING IT), exploring Jason’s new path of getting over the Batman/Joker stuff, and just generally heartwarming character moments.
Two things that I thought were especially excellent was the parallel between Jason Todd and Suzi Su. Yeah, it’s a weird comparison, but in the issue you’ll see that there’s a reason why Lobdell chose Jason to go up against her. It emphasizes one of the two major aspects of Jason’s character development, and that’s him finding a new purpose that has nothing to do with revenge. He’s growing up. And the secnd moment was when Jason and Tim met. Yes, that Tim. Won’t spoil it, but it’s just… so great to see. Jason’s not a bad guy at all. He’s a good person and this scene helps show that. Roy and Kori also have their little moments regarding morality.
The art was amazing as usual, but there are a couple moments where Roy’s mask doesn’t have the white eyes and that irked me. But that’s really just a minor nitpick.
Not much else I can think to complain about! This was a fantastic issue and I’m loving this series.
