GREEN LANTERN #8 Review (No spoilers)

Geoff Johns is doing an awesome job on Green Lantern.

… And Doug Mahnke doesn’t make me wanna drown in my own puke. In fact, it kinda… looks… good…

… yeeeeaaaaaahhhh, anyways, I’m glad we’re FINALLY getting the secrets of the Indigo Tribe revealed ot us after it being promised to us since before/during Blackest Night, and not TOO MANY things we didn’t know already were revealed, but now we’re getting a sense of how messed this Corps really is and how they were formed.

Sinestro and Hal’s characterizations are just so refreshing. They always have been since the relaunch, but Sinestro is a badass and Hal is really fun. It’s also nice to see Black hand again and it’s just so… so weird seeing him like this, but that’s the point. Also, we get our first Blackest Night reference/flashback-panel in the New 52, and I thought that was interesting (nothing’s changed).

Great action, and I really really like the twists. They make sense and they’re really fun to see Hal deal with. The issue is pretty compact and it goes by quickly, but it’s a solid read and it’s the best work Johns has done for a long time in my opinion. Give it a read, even if you’re not a GL fan!
